He holds a master's degree and a PhD in biochemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, the doctorate awarded summa cum laude, and his doctoral work on the structural biology and regulation of protein biosynthesis produced publications in Science, Nature, Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, Molecular Cell and the EMBO Journal; his master's research at UC San Diego was published in Cell. He held a PhD fellowship from the Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds and received the Römer Prize for outstanding achievements by young scientists. Before Wellington he interned on Gimv's life sciences venture capital platform, working on deal screening, due diligence and portfolio work. He joined Wellington Partners in 2024.
