Biography

Dr. Bo Jesper Hansen is a Venture Partner at Wellington Partners, an advisory rather than full-time investing role. He is a medical doctor who studied medicine at the University of Copenhagen and specialised in urology. He co-founded Swedish Orphan Biovitrum (Sobi), the publicly listed rare-disease biotech, and served as its executive chairman; the firm cites a market capitalisation of roughly EUR 5 billion. He chairs Karolinska Development and serves on the boards of Laborie, Newron, CMC, GenSpera and Orphazyme, and previously held board and leadership roles at Ablynx (acquired by Sanofi), Gambro (Baxter), Zymenex (Chiesi) and Hyperion (Horizon). He joined Wellington Partners in 2015.
