Biography

Anne-Sophie Carrese is a Managing Partner at Elaia, where she joined in 2017 to create the firm's deep tech seed activity. She is a graduate of École polytechnique (X 1995, Corps de l'Armement) and began her career as a test engineer on aircraft engines, negotiating partnerships with large industrial groups and running production teams. She then worked at France's Direction du Trésor financing international mobility projects and at Caisse des Dépôts launching renewable energy infrastructure investments, before joining Bpifrance Investissement in 2009 to set up a mezzanine fund and an ecotechnologies venture fund. At Elaia she structured the PSL Innovation fund for deep tech start-ups from Université PSL and co-created the Elaia Alpha 2 digital seed fund with Inria. She co-leads the Deep Tech Seed 3 fund closed at EUR 134 million in March 2026.
