Decisive Point is a venture capital and advisory firm focused on national security, founded in 2018 by Thomas Hendrix, Eric Horan, and Andrew Price and operating from New York, Washington DC, and Boston. The firm backs seed and Series A dual use startups in defense, energy, and infrastructure, historically writing checks of roughly $500,000 to $1.5 million, and pairs its funds with a government contracting advisory practice that acts as a bolt on government relations team for portfolio companies, handling federal acquisition strategy, non dilutive R&D funding, proposal writing, and congressional engagement. This govcon arm, together with its operation of the National Security Innovation Network's Propel accelerator in partnership with the Department of Defense, distinguishes it from generalist defense investors. Decisive Point announced the initial close of its first fund, Decisive Point Ventures Fund I, in January 2021, a vehicle with $10 million in anticipated commitments. The portfolio includes Firehawk Aerospace, Asylon, HavocAI, EpiSci, Radiant, and Standard Nuclear, which completed an initial public offering on the NYSE in July 2026. In November 2025 Medal of Honor recipient Matthew Williams joined as Partner to lead defense and national security investments. The firm does not publicly state assets under management.
Portfolio company Standard Nuclear, the Oak Ridge TRISO nuclear fuel maker, completed its initial public offering on the NYSE as STDN in July 2026.
