Biography

Matt Williams is a Partner at Decisive Point, where he leads the firm's defense and national security investment strategy. He joined the firm in November 2025 after more than two decades in the U.S. Army Special Forces, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. In 2019 he received the Medal of Honor for his actions during a 2008 mission in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan, where he led the evacuation of wounded soldiers under fire during one of the most intense firefights of the war. At Decisive Point he focuses on early and growth stage companies developing autonomy, kinetic systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, space, energy systems, and AI enabled command and control, and serves as a liaison between portfolio companies, government stakeholders, and limited partners. He holds a BS from Angelo State University and an MBA from Texas A&M University.
