S2G Investments

S2G Investments is a Chicago-based multi-asset investment firm that backs venture and growth-stage companies across food and agriculture, energy, and oceans. The firm was founded in 2014 as S2G Ventures, with OpenTable founder Chuck Templeton and longtime food and agriculture investor Sanjeev Krishnan among its early leaders, and initially concentrated on food before expanding into oceans and energy. It describes itself as invested at the seams of sector transition, backing companies that improve efficiency and resilience in food, energy, and ocean systems. S2G closed its second fund at $180 million in 2017 and was an early investor in Beyond Meat, which went public on Nasdaq in 2019. In January 2025 the firm rebranded from S2G Ventures to S2G Investments to reflect a multi-asset platform spanning venture, growth equity, and structured finance, stating $2.5 billion in committed capital at the time. In May 2026 it closed the $1 billion Solutions Fund I to back growth-stage companies in North America and Europe, addressing what it calls the missing middle between venture capital and infrastructure-scale finance. The firm reports $2.8 billion in assets under management, with offices in Chicago, San Francisco, and Boston.
