Biography

Zak Schwarzman is a General Partner at MetaProp, which he joined in September 2016. He leads the firm's venture capital funds, investing in early stage proptech startups transforming how physical space is conceptualized, built, transacted, and managed, and works closely with portfolio companies on growth and business development. Before MetaProp he was an investor at Gotham Ventures, a seed stage firm affiliated with the Draper Venture Network, and earlier held roles at Canaan Partners, AOL Ventures, and Learn Capital. He is a Kauffman Fellow and teaches a graduate venture capital seminar as an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School. He holds a BA in political economy and business from Tulane University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
