Biography

Aaron Block is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of MetaProp, the New York proptech venture capital firm he launched with Zach Aarons in 2015. He oversees day to day management of the firm and has spearheaded industry firsts including the MetaProp Accelerator at Columbia University, NYC Real Estate Tech Week, MIPIM PropTech NYC, and the Global PropTech Confidence Index. Before MetaProp he was CEO and later chairman of BayRu, a Chicago based ecommerce company that became the eighth largest international online retailer serving Russia, and earlier he led Cushman & Wakefield's Chicago region, overseeing more than 270 professionals. He co-authored the bestselling book PropTech 101 and was named Executive of the Year for innovation by Commercial Property Executive in 2019. He holds a BA from the University of Illinois and an MBA from DePaul University.
