Before moving to venture capital he practiced technology and life science law at Fenwick & West and later at Austin based firms, advising on hundreds of venture financings representing more than $1 billion in aggregate value and working with companies including Airbnb, Cisco and WhatsApp. He earned his law degree from the University of Michigan, where he received a Dean's Scholarship, has made personal angel investments, and has guest lectured at law schools. At KdT he helps frontier science founders structure companies and financings from the first institutional check onward.
