Karl Beinkampen joined MassMutual Ventures in 2022 as a Managing Partner to launch the firm's Climate Technology Fund, and became a Venture Partner of that fund in 2024. He was previously at MassMutual as Head of MassMutual Investments Alternative Product, overseeing the development and launch of a registered private equity fund business. Before that he was President of SVB Leerink Capital Partners, and earlier President and Chief Investment Officer of Wilshire Private Markets, a division of Wilshire Associates, where he also served on the Wilshire Associates board. He spent 15 years at Morgan Stanley, most recently as a Managing Director in the firm's Alternative Investment Partners division. He is a graduate of Princeton University in economics, holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a CFA charterholder.
