CRV

CRV, originally Charles River Ventures, was founded in 1970 in Boston to commercialize research coming out of MIT, with help from Dick Burnes, founder of the semiconductor testing company Teradyne. Over more than five decades, the firm relocated its headquarters to Palo Alto to be closer to Silicon Valley and built a reputation for conviction and speed in early-stage consumer and enterprise deals. That pattern held true in 2013, when partner Saar Gur led CRV's seed investment in DoorDash - a food delivery company just nine weeks old at the time - years before its 2020 IPO valued it at $39 billion.
