His investing focused on communications and information services, and his bio credits him with significant roles in Cascade Communications, Chipcom Corporation, Epoch Systems, Abacus Direct, Summa Four, Concord Communications, Prominet, Aptis and Sonus Networks, and with directorships at Cayman Systems, Concord Communications, InteQ, Passport Corp., Taqua Systems, SpeechWorks and Voter.com. He holds a B.A. in history from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Boston University. CRV now lists him under Partners Emeritus, and he serves as investment committee chair of the de Beaumont Foundation and as a director of Unified Office, in which he invested in August 2014.
