Biography

Vinit Nijhawan is Managing Director at MassVentures. The organisation's 12 May 2025 release states he has nearly four decades of experience in the technology startup and technology transfer space and that he previously led Boston University's Office of Technology Development, where he helped launch eight venture-backed spinouts and generated more royalty income than the university had seen in its previous 34 years, and that he received the 2025 Bayh-Dole Coalition American Innovator Award in Washington DC on 4 June 2025. His Boston University Questrom School of Business profile states that he holds a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, that he built five startups and was CEO of three, all five of which were acquired, that he was a Venture Partner at Key Venture Partners, that he was Managing Director of BU's Office of Technology Development and a Lecturer in Strategy and Innovation at Questrom, and that he co-founded the education technology accelerator LearnLaunch and has served as President of the Massachusetts Association of Technology Transfer Offices and as a board member of the National Academy of Inventors and of VentureCafe.
