Biography

Tory Patterson is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Owl Ventures, the education technology firm he helped launch in 2014 and build into one of the largest EdTech focused venture investors in the world. Before Owl he was a partner at Catamount Ventures, where he founded and ran one of the venture industry's first dedicated education investment practices. His realized investments include DreamBox Learning, acquired by Discovery Education, Remind, acquired by ParentSquare, TenMarks, acquired by Amazon, and LearnZillion, acquired by Imagine Learning. He currently serves on the boards of companies including Newsela, Quizlet, Hazel Health, and uLesson. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Williams College and an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
