Biography

Misti Ushio is a Managing Partner at Digitalis Ventures, which she joined in January 2023 with more than 25 years of experience across venture capital, pharmaceuticals, and early stage life science company building. She was previously founder and CEO of TARA Biosystems, a cardiovascular focused biotech company acquired by Valo Health in 2022. Earlier she was Chief Strategy Officer and Managing Director at Harris & Harris Group, held management roles in vaccine and biologics development at Merck, and managed intellectual property portfolios at Columbia University. Fast Company named her one of its 100 Most Creative People in Business in 2018. She holds a BS in chemical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, an MS from Lehigh University, and a PhD in biochemical engineering from University College London.
