Biography

Matt Golden is Founder and Managing Partner of Golden Ventures, which he started in June 2011 in Toronto as a solo general partner under the name Golden Venture Partners. Before that he co-founded the mobile games publisher and content deployment company Tira Wireless, where he was SVP of sales, business and corporate development from 2001 to 2008, trained and practised as a lawyer at Osler on business technology and M&A, and led deals at the BlackBerry Partners Fund and Brightspark Ventures. His Creative Destruction Lab mentor profile gives his degrees as a Law/MBA from the University of Ottawa and a BA in Economics from York University, and the firm's team page gives the same as LLB/MBA and BA Economics. He has authored the firm's fund announcements, including Golden Ventures V in February 2024, and its investment announcements for NiaHealth and Barley.
