Gordon Ritter is Founder and General Partner at Emergence Capital, which Emergence's own site says was founded in 2003 by Jason Green, Brian Jacobs and Gordon Ritter. He led Emergence's first major investment in Salesforce and backed Veeva Systems in 2008, when the company had just 25 employees and less than 1 million dollars in revenue; he remains Veeva's chairman. Before Emergence he built companies for over 15 years, including Software As Service, co-founded with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, and Whistle Communications, which was acquired by IBM, where he went on to lead the 3 billion dollar Global Small Business division. A Princeton alumnus, he recently joined the university's Board of Trustees and has been a four-time member of the Forbes Midas List.
