He previously served as President and CEO of Ascension Health, the largest nonprofit health system in the United States, where he also founded Ascension Ventures, its strategic venture arm. Earlier he was CEO of St. Vincent Health System in Indianapolis. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the board of directors of MillerKnoll, Inc. He holds an undergraduate degree in pre-medical biology from Trevecca University and a graduate degree from Xavier University.
