Biography

Dennis McWilliams is a Managing Director at Santé Ventures. He joined the firm in 2019 as a Venture Partner and was promoted to Managing Director, announced with the close of the firm's fifth fund in 2026. He founded Apollo Endosurgery, a minimally invasive surgical device company, serving as CEO for nine years before becoming President and Chief Commercial Officer in 2014 as the company grew into a public company with a presence in more than sixty countries. He also founded SparkMed Advisors, a medical device advisory firm, and co-founded Chrysalis BioTechnology, a biopharmaceutical company focused on tissue regeneration. He holds an MS in engineering management from Stanford University and a BS in aerospace engineering with honors from the University of Texas.
