Dick Kramlich co-founded New Enterprise Associates in 1977 with Chuck Newhall and Frank Bonsal, after beginning his venture career at Arthur Rock & Associates in 1969. NEA states that he served as managing partner for the firm's first seven funds and as a general partner through NEA 13, and that he led investments including Juniper Networks, Macromedia, Ascend Communications, Immunex, Xoom and Financial Engines, alongside early investments in Apple. He retired from NEA in 2012 and afterwards co-founded Green Bay Ventures and served as CEO of Kramlich Investment Group. He died on February 1, 2025 at the age of 89.
