Chris Dixon is a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where he founded and leads a16z crypto, the firm's dedicated web3 investing practice. He joined the firm in 2012 after cofounding and running two startups, SiteAdvisor, acquired by McAfee in 2006, and Hunch, acquired by eBay in 2011, and after cofounding the seed fund Founder Collective. He led the firm's 2013 Series B investment in Coinbase and joined that company's board, and in 2022 took the a16z board seat at OpenSea. He is the author of Read Write Own: Building the Next Era of the Internet, published by Random House in January 2024.
