Biography

Alina Bassi is a Principal at Ananda Impact Ventures with a chemical engineering degree. She began her career as a corporate engineer working on industrial plants converting household waste into energy, then moved into the London startup ecosystem where she worked on turning coffee waste into biofuels. She went on to co-found a textile recycling startup in Berlin that converted textile waste into plastic pellets, and co-founded a non-profit supporting women of colour entrepreneurs; Ananda does not name either company. She credits the Obama Leadership Programme with moving her toward impact investing. At Ananda she supports AIRMO, Elio, Nordic Salt Cycle and Quantistry. Her joining year is not published.
