Ananda Impact Ventures

Ananda backs European pre-seed, seed and Series A companies with initial cheques of EUR 0.5m to EUR 3m and up to EUR 8m over a company's life, leading rounds and focusing on the DACH region, the UK, Benelux and the Nordics. Its mandate is impact investing rather than a single sector: its funds are classified SFDR Article 9, and it pioneered with the European Investment Fund an 'Impact Carry' model that scales carried interest from 0 to 20 percent according to how far portfolio companies hit their impact KPIs. In practice it invests in healthcare and digital health, education, climate and decarbonisation, nature and biodiversity, biosecurity, the blue economy and future-of-work businesses, with companies such as Open Bionics, IESO Digital Health, OroraTech, Auticon, Klim and Resourcify. The firm says it has made 48 investments and manages EUR 270m across five funds.
