Its own site describes it as "Leader and pioneer in DeepTech investment", investing "From inception to maturity" and providing "unparalleled expertise and patient capital in the fields of Industrial Technologies, Digital, Healthcare, and Cleantech". It states that it is "an independent management company, investing mainly across Europe" and that "Investment decisions are made by the Partners on the Investment Committee". Its investment team is organised by sector into Healthcare, Industry 4.0, Digital Technologies and Energy & Environment. It operates from Paris and Grenoble and reports "a total of about 100 investments and more than 70 portfolio companies" with "30+ successful trade exits".

Amundi and the CEA announce on 28 March 2017 the creation of Supernova Invest, held 40 percent by CEA Investissement, 40 percent by Amundi Private Equity Funds and 20 percent by the team from CEA Investissement; it takes over the existing CEA Investissement funds and manages the new Credit Agricole Innovations et Territoires fund.

2021
On 26 November 2021 Supernova Invest announces the 145 million euro late-stage deeptech fund Ambition Industrie, backed by the CEA, the Credit Agricole group, portfolio founders, industrial players, institutions and family offices.
2023
In June 2023 the Supernova Innovation 3 seed fund reaches a first closing of 75 million euros against a 100 million euro target.
2023
In November 2023 Supernova Invest and Credit Agricole launch an agri and agrotech innovation capital fund with 60 million euros at first closing and a 100 million euro target.
2024
On 21 March 2024 Orano and Supernova Invest launch the 50 million euro Orano Venture Fund, managed by Supernova Invest, for startups in the circular economy and advanced industrial technologies.
2025
In January 2025 Supernova Invest announces the successful closing of the Supernova Innovation 3 seed fund at its 100 million euro target, with the CEA, regional Credit Agricole banks, VINCI, Michelin, bioMérieux, the French National Seed Fund 2 managed by Bpifrance, Orano, MACSF, Agir a Dom and Groupe Seb as investors.
2026
In March 2026 Supernova Invest exits Gleamer following its sale to RadNet.
