Porsche Ventures

Porsche Ventures has operated since 2016 as one of the clearest examples of strategic industrial value-add among corporate venture arms, built around commercialization help, supply-chain access, and the broader Porsche/VW ecosystem rather than capital alone. Under Managing Director Ulrich Thiem, who took over in 2019 after joining Porsche's legal department in 2011, the firm runs two tailored investment portfolios - one close to Porsche's core auto-tech business investing mainly at Series B, the other spanning intelligent enterprise and sustainability more broadly. In April 2023 Porsche earmarked up to €250 million for new and existing venture investments, operating from a distributed team across Stuttgart, Berlin, Palo Alto, Los Angeles, and Tel Aviv.
