Dell Technologies Capital, or DTC, has operated as Dell's venture team since 2012, when Scott Darling founded the practice inside EMC before Dell's acquisition folded it into Dell Technologies. DTC's model is explicitly hands-on: alongside capital, portfolio companies get pricing analysis, go-to-market support, customer introductions, and direct access to Dell's family of businesses - Dell, Dell EMC, VMware, Pivotal, and SecureWorks. That approach has produced an unusually deep IPO track record for a corporate venture arm: DTC was the first institutional investor in Zscaler, and its 143 investments since 2012 have produced 65 M&A exits and 9 IPOs, including Arista, DocuSign, JFrog, MongoDB, Nutanix, SumoLogic, and Zscaler, together worth more than $160 billion in combined market value.
JFrog's September 2020 Nasdaq IPO - DTC published a case study celebrating the DevOps company's public debut, part of a run of exits including Arista, DocuSign, MongoDB, Nutanix, SumoLogic, and Zscaler that generated more than $160 billion in combined market value
