Anthemis Group

Anthemis Group grew out of Nauiokas Park, a predecessor firm Amy Nauiokas and Sean Park co-founded in 2008 after both left senior roles at Barclays, formally rebranding as Anthemis in the fall of 2010 to catalyze structural change in financial services. Built on three founding principles - authentic collaboration, virtuous cycle outcomes, and diversity and inclusivity - the firm positioned itself as a first-mover investment manager focused exclusively on reinventing financial services for the modern age, years before 'fintech' became a mainstream investment category. That early conviction backed Zoopla, Betterment, Currencycloud, and Seedcamp, and Anthemis has deployed 40% of its capital into companies backed by women or people of color, closing $700 million in new capital in 2021 (split between its ESG-focused SPAC and pre-seed through Series B embedded finance investing) to reach $1.2 billion in AUM.
