Acrew Capital

Acrew Capital was co-founded in December 2019 by Theresia Gouw, Lauren Kolodny, Vishal Lugani, Asad Khaliq, and Mark Kraynak, most of whom had worked together previously at Aspect Ventures before that firm split up over differing leadership styles between its two founders. Gouw, a 15-year veteran of Accel Partners and the firm's first female partner, built Acrew deliberately as a 'multigenerational' firm structured to avoid concentrating power and decision-making at the top the way many venture partnerships do, with any two partners able to push a deal through. That structure, paired with a genuine belief that diversity of perspective is a competitive advantage rather than a checkbox, has produced a portfolio of 142-plus companies including 16 unicorns, anchored by a community of more than 600 operators and executives the firm calls its 'Crew of Leaders.' Acrew closed its $250 million debut fund backed by Melinda Gates and has since grown to $1.7 billion in AUM, raising $700 million in a single close in October 2024.
