Biography

Theresia Gouw emigrated from Indonesia as a child, studied engineering at Brown, and earned an MBA from Stanford before spending 15 years at Accel Partners, where she became the firm's first female partner and managing partner during a career that touched real, dollar-verified exits including Forescout, Imperva, Trulia, and HotelTonight's acquisition by Airbnb. She co-founded Aspect Ventures in 2014 with Jennifer Fonstad, and when the two split in 2019 over differing leadership styles, Gouw launched Acrew Capital with four Aspect colleagues, deliberately building it as a 'multigenerational' firm designed to avoid concentrating power at the top the way many venture partnerships do. She has been named to the Forbes Midas List eight times, co-founded All Raise, a nonprofit expanding women's representation in venture capital, and has made diversity of perspective a structural pillar of Acrew's investing thesis rather than a stated goal without teeth.
