Todd Chaffee built Visa's first venture capital arm from scratch starting in 1994, generating more than $1.2 billion in gains and a 32.8x return multiple before becoming the youngest Executive Vice President in Visa International's history. He joined IVP as a General Partner in 2000 and built a portfolio spanning Netflix, HomeAway, Kayak, Coinbase, and Yahoo - but his signature bet came in 2009, when he led IVP's $44 million investment in Twitter at a $220 million valuation. By 2018, that stake had grown into a return of nearly $5 billion. Chaffee has appeared on the Forbes Midas List every year from 2009 through 2018 and was named to the New York Times' Top 100 Venture Capitalists list for four consecutive years.
