Satya Patel co-founded the seed stage firm Homebrew with Hunter Walk in 2013. Since 2022 Homebrew has operated as Homebrew IV(ever), which the firm describes as an evergreen investment vehicle composed, for now, of only the partners' own capital rather than a traditional limited partner fund, and its site states that about 90 percent of its activity is pre-seed and seed checks of $100k to $500k. Before Homebrew he was VP Product at Twitter, a Partner at Battery Ventures where he co-led the seed and early stage investing practices, and a product manager on Google's AdSense team from 2003, having begun his venture career at GeoCapital Partners in 1997. Forbes reported that he invested $1 million in Chime while it was still fledgling and that he scouted Gusto early, and he also co-founded Screendoor, a fund that backs first-time venture managers.
