Biography

Hunter Walk built nearly a decade of consumer product leadership at Google, most notably heading product for YouTube, after earlier stints at Linden Lab and in management consulting at Deloitte. He co-founded Homebrew in 2013 with fellow Google veteran Satya Patel, built around what they call the 'Bottom Up Economy' thesis - betting on companies that give power back to individuals and small businesses who'd been underserved by incumbents. That conviction, applied deliberately narrow (the firm makes only 8-10 investments a year, working closely with each through Series B), produced one of the earliest and most successful bets in Chime, which completed its Nasdaq IPO in June 2025 at an $11.6 billion valuation after 12 years as a private company. Walk and Patel recently made the unusual decision to stop raising outside capital entirely, moving to a self-funded model called Homebrew Forever after a decade of what they've described as stellar returns across Chime, Plaid, and Gusto.
