Biography

Philippe Collombel began his career as an electrical engineer in the nuclear energy division of Cegelec before moving into venture capital at Finovelec, where he led two landmark IPOs - WonderWare and Lannet. He then started Genèse Investissement, France's first dedicated seed fund, before joining Jean-Marc Patouillaud at Partech to lead a 2008 management buyout that took the firm independent from its original bank ownership. Since then, Collombel has helped transform Partech from a single-region European operation into a genuinely global platform spanning San Francisco, Paris, Berlin, Dakar, Dubai, and Nairobi, and continues to drive the firm's investment strategy as Founding and General Partner, with a particular focus on scaling promising companies across Europe and Africa.
