Biography

Matt Ocko is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of DCVC, the deep tech venture firm he started with Zachary Bogue and which has backed entrepreneurs since 2010. DCVC's own bio for him says his current investments span national resilience in energy, manufacturing and agriculture, computational drug discovery and synthetic biology, geospatial and space access platforms, robotics and applied AI, defense and anti-terror systems, quantum systems, and large-scale advanced compute and enterprise platforms. Before DCVC he founded and was VP of R&D at Da Vinci Systems, an email software vendor, and he is an inventor on more than 50 granted or in-process patents. He holds a physics degree from Yale University and is an advisor to In-Q-Tel and a member and advisor to Business Executives for National Security.

Co-led Planet Labs' $70 million Series C, which he described as the first investment of the DCVC Opportunity Fund.
