Biography

Mark Mullen is a co-founder and Managing Director of Bonfire Ventures, the Los Angeles seed firm he started with Jim Andelman in 2017. His own account on the firm's site is that he spent 20 years as a mergers and acquisitions investment banker in San Francisco, Paris, London and New York covering telecommunications, cable and technology infrastructure, working for Bill Daniels and becoming a senior partner before the firm was sold to RBC Capital Markets in 2010. He then served as Chief Operating Officer of the City of Los Angeles and Senior Advisor to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. He has made seed investments in B2B technology founders for two decades, previously founding Double M Partners and Mull Capital, and co-invested frequently with Jim Andelman before the two combined their practices at Bonfire. The firm's own page for him lists his focus as fintech and services, vertical AI software, logistics infrastructure and payments solutions. The Form D for Bonfire Ventures IV, LP names him as a Managing Director of the fund's general partner.
