View Live Interactive Profile →Kara Nortman joined Upfront Ventures in 2014 and was named co-managing partner in 2020, one of the first women promoted to a firm leadership role in venture capital. TechCrunch reported that her investments there included Parachute Home, her first Upfront investment, and enterprise software companies OpenRaven and Fleetsmith, which was acquired by Apple. Before Upfront she spent close to seven years at IAC, where she co-headed the M&A group and later served as SVP and General Manager of Urbanspoon and Citysearch, and earlier worked at Battery Ventures, Microsoft and Morgan Stanley. She co-founded Angel City FC in 2020 and is now Managing Partner of Monarch Collective, and she earned an AB in Politics from Princeton University and an MBA from Stanford University.
