View Live Interactive Profile →Jay Hoag has been a technology investor for more than 40 years, spending 12 years as a Managing Director at Chancellor Capital Management before co-founding Technology Crossover Ventures with Rick Kimball in 1995 - inventing the 'crossover' model of investing in both private and public technology companies from a single fund. His defining relationship is with Netflix: he joined the company's board in 1999, back when TCV owned roughly 43% of the pre-IPO company, and has stayed on as Chairman through Netflix's growth into a company worth more than $400 billion. He personally led TCV's $260 million investment in Facebook ahead of its 2012 IPO, doubling the position within months, and continues to chair TCV's Investment Committee more than three decades after founding the firm.
