Elizabeth Yin started programming as a teenager during the dot-com boom, then worked as a Marketing Engineer at National Instruments Japan and a Product Marketing Manager at Google before co-founding LaunchBit, a B2B ad network. She joined 500 Startups in 2014, eventually running its Mountain View accelerator and writing more than 200 investment checks, before resigning in July 2017 over concerns about the firm's handling of harassment allegations against co-founder Dave McClure. She co-founded Hustle Fund shortly after with longtime friends Eric Bahn and Shiyan Koh, building a pre-seed fund specifically designed to back founders earlier than most firms will - often pre-revenue, sometimes pre-product - with a mission to democratize wealth creation through fast, founder-friendly investment terms. Yin is the author of 'Democratizing Knowledge: How to Build a Startup, Raise Money, Run a VC Firm, and Everything in Between.'
