David Hornik has served as a general partner of August Capital since June 2000, investing in enterprise software and financial technology companies. He founded Lobby Capital in January 2021, where he is founder and general partner, and he is the creator and executive producer of The Lobby and Lobby:Enterprise, August Capital's annual gatherings for digital media and enterprise software leaders. He served on Splunk's board from August 2004 to September 2017, has served on Fastly's board since February 2012 and as its chairperson since April 2023, and has served on BILL's board since May 2016. He started VentureBlog and VentureCast, teaches entrepreneurship and venture capital at Stanford Business School and Harvard Law School, and received Deloitte's 2013 Venture Capitalist of the Year award.
