Biography

Christoph Janz never attended university, starting out trading second-hand computers at age 12 before founding and exiting several companies including DealPilot and PageFlakes. He made his first-ever angel check into Zendesk, a bet that would eventually see the company go public in 2014 and later get taken private in a $10.2 billion deal led by Hellman & Friedman and Permira in 2022. He co-founded Point Nine Capital with Pawel Chudzinski in 2011, building one of Europe's most focused B2B SaaS specialist funds, and his instinct for early conviction repeated itself in 2017 when he put roughly $1 million into video recording tool Loom - a bet Atlassian validated by acquiring the company for $975 million in 2023. Janz remains one of Point Nine's most publicly visible voices, writing extensively about SaaS fundamentals on the firm's own essays platform.
