Biography

Bill Nixon is Chair of Maven Capital Partners. His Maven profile states that in 2009 he led a management buyout from Aberdeen Asset Management and, alongside senior colleagues, established Maven as a new entity in the SME finance sector; that as Managing Partner and VCT Fund Manager he directed Maven's expansion and oversaw the 2021 sale to Mattioli Woods; and that in early 2026, after 17 years as Managing Partner, he transitioned to Chair while retaining responsibility for the Maven Investor Partners business development. He also chairs the Maven Investment Committee for the MBO funds and the VCTs. Before Maven he held private equity leadership positions with Aberdeen Asset Management and Clydesdale Bank, with more than 40 years in banking, corporate finance and fund management. He holds Fellowship status with the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland and an MBA from Strathclyde University. He is based in London.
