Maven Capital Partners

Maven Capital Partners UK LLP is a UK private equity and property manager formed in 2009 by a management buyout of the private equity business of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC. It describes itself as "a leading private equity and property manager" and states it invests up to GBP 20 million of equity in a single company, backing management buyouts, growth capital, buy-and-build projects, equity value release and pre-IPO financing, as well as property development funding. It runs several distinct kinds of vehicle rather than one fund family. On the retail and tax-efficient side it manages five VCTs (Maven Income and Growth VCT, Maven Income and Growth VCT 3, Maven Income and Growth VCT 4, Maven Income and Growth VCT 5 and Maven Renovar VCT), an EIS offering, and the Maven Investor Partners deal-by-deal co-investment network for private equity and property. On the institutional side it manages the Maven UK Regional Buyout Fund and Maven UK Regional Buyout Fund II, which target businesses with an enterprise value between GBP 10 million and GBP 50 million. It also manages publicly backed regional mandates on behalf of partners such as the British Business Bank: Finance Durham Fund, IFS Maven Equity Finance (Investment Fund for Scotland), MEIF II Debt Finance East and South East Midlands, NPIF II Maven Equity Finance (Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II), SWIF Maven Equity Finance (South West Investment Fund) and the North East Development Capital Fund. Maven says it works from a network of regional offices and its site lists offices in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Durham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Lancashire, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Reading, with Glasgow as its headquarters. It is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is registered in England and Wales as OC339387. Since 2021 it has been part of the Mattioli Woods group.
