Biography

Ben Marrel is a co-founder of Breega and its CEO. Breega was founded by three entrepreneurs, Marrel, François Paulus and Maximilien Bacot, who moved into venture capital after building their own companies; the firm says it only hires people who have already built a company. He announced the firm's EUR 250 million fund in June 2022, describing it as the fourth and largest fund raised in seven years and as the vehicle that would let Breega finance companies at Series A and above. In 2024 he led the launch of Breega Africa Seed I, a EUR 75 million Africa fund operating from Lagos and Cape Town. Breega publishes no individual biographies, education or board seats for its team, so those fields are left empty.
