She holds an MD in human genetics from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, studied medicine at Georg-August University in Goettingen and the Technical University in Munich, completed two years of specialisation training in dermatology and allergology at the University Hospital of Munich, and received postdoctoral training as a Fellow of the German Research Foundation at the Basel Institute for Immunology.
