Alberto Yépez is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the cybersecurity industry, having founded and sold enCommerce to Entrust, served as Entrust's Co-CEO and President through its own sale to Thoma Bravo, and led Thor Technologies to an acquisition by Oracle in 2005 - three exits before he ever became a full-time investor. He led cybersecurity investments as Managing Director at Trident Capital, backing companies later acquired by AT&T, Symantec, Madison Dearborn, and Cisco, before co-founding Forgepoint Capital with his Trident colleague Don Dixon in 2015 to build one of the first venture funds exclusively dedicated to cybersecurity. His investments at Forgepoint include Attivo Networks (acquired by SentinelOne), Area 1 (acquired by Cloudflare), and BehavioSec (acquired by LexisNexis Risk Solutions), and he currently sits on the boards of Constella Intelligence, CyberCube, Huntress, NowSecure, ReversingLabs, and Uptycs - recognized by Fortune as one of the top VCs dominating cybersecurity investing.
