Alan Patricof co-founded Greycroft in 2006, after creating Patricof & Co. Ventures, the predecessor to Apax Partners, and stepping back from the daily administration and operational aspects of Apax in 2004. Greycroft's site states his investments have included America Online, Office Depot, Cadence Systems, Apple Computer, Audible, Axios and Wondery. He also founded and chaired the board of New York magazine, which subsequently acquired the Village Voice and New West. In 2020 he co-founded Primetime Partners with Abby Miller Levy, and Greycroft now lists him as Co-Founder and Chairman Emeritus.
