Tribe Capital

Tribe Capital was founded in July 2018 by Arjun Sethi, Jonathan Hsu, and Ted Maidenberg, all three departing Social Capital together as part of a broader wave of spinouts following Chamath Palihapitiya's restructuring of that firm. Drawing on Hsu's data-science background from Social Capital's internal analytics team, Tribe built a genuinely quantitative approach to venture investing - using proprietary data models to inform diligence while remaining deeply founder-focused rather than purely algorithmic - investing at seed and early Series A in enterprise SaaS, fintech, crypto, and AI-driven businesses. The firm's first investment was in sFOX in 2018, and it sponsored a SPAC that went public on NASDAQ with $240 million in capital in 2021. Tribe has raised multiple funds since founding, including two roughly $450 million vehicles, reaching $1.9 billion in assets under management.

Signature Exit

No major venture-portfolio exit reported yet - Tribe's clearest public-market event is its own 2021 SPAC, which listed on NASDAQ with $240 million in capital, distinct from a traditional portfolio-company exit
