NC Tweener Fund

The NC Tweener Fund, styled "NC Tweener Fund, Powered by NC IDEA", is a rolling fund run on the AngelList Rolling Fund platform and is, in its own words, "always open to new accredited investors". Its stated strategy is to build an index rather than to pick winners: "smaller investments in a relatively large number of NC-based companies", which it says translates to 10-15 investments a quarter, or 40-60 a year, at an average of about $50,000 per company. The minimum LP commitment is $30,000, taken as four quarterly investments of $7,500. It invests only in North Carolina-headquartered companies and, since February 2026, across the whole state in seven named regions rather than the Triangle alone. Its targets are what it calls Tweeners and Pre-Tweeners: North Carolina technology companies with either $1M+ in annual revenue or 10+ employees, which the firm describes as "the 'Goldilocks' companies" that are "not too small and not too large" and which its own tracking says have more good outcomes and fewer closures than other cohorts. Companies graduate off its Tweener List at $80M+ revenue or 500 employees. The fund states no sector focus; its selection criterion is geography, size and stage.
