KB Investment is the venture capital and private equity arm of South Korea's KB Financial Group, which owns it outright. It describes itself as an investment partner that accompanies company growth. Its investment organisation is split into seven investment divisions, with one chief investment officer covering growth investment and another covering deep tech investment, and a chief risk officer heading a risk screening division kept separate from the investment divisions. As a registered TIPS operating organisation it states focus areas of AI and big data, robotics, SaaS, metaverse and gaming, secondary batteries, advanced materials and components, bio, healthcare, aerospace, content, commerce, platform, clean technology and energy. Reported deployment in 2025 concentrated on ICT services and on bio and medical. It runs several funds in the hundreds of billions of won, including a KRW 300bn digital platform fund, a KRW 250bn second global platform fund, a KRW 220bn global platform fund, a KRW 200bn smart scale-up fund, a KRW 185bn deep tech scale-up fund formed in February 2026 and a KRW 100bn AX digital asset fund funded by KB group affiliates. It also invests outside Korea, with a Boston office targeting global biotech and co-general-partner arrangements in Southeast Asia and India.
