Impact X Capital was founded in London in 2018 by Eric D. Collins and Paula Groves, alongside a founding group of Black European and US entrepreneurs, institutional investors, and public figures including Ursula Burns and Lenny Henry, built around a specific market inefficiency: less than 1% of venture funding reaches Black entrepreneurs, and less than 4% reaches women-led teams. Rather than treating that gap as a purely social problem, Impact X frames it as a genuine investment opportunity - a double-bottom-line fund pursuing both financial returns and structural change, backing underrepresented founders across fintech, consumer, and healthtech in the UK, Europe, and the US. The firm has made 47 investments with 8 exits to date, launched an Impact X-Venture Studio with Microsoft to accelerate underrepresented-led startups, and closed a £100 million debut fund with plans for a second vehicle backed by Bank of America and the Visa Foundation.
No confirmed exit yet - as a young fund with first deals beginning in 2019-2020, Impact X's portfolio of 47 investments remains largely private, with top current valuations reaching $2 billion
